Architecture

Seven Planes

Vorantiq is organized along seven operational planes. Every subsystem belongs to one or more. The same vocabulary is used in source code, CODEOWNERS, runbooks, status documents, and customer-facing surfaces — so a reader can move between any of them without a mental-model change.

Identity Plane

Authentication, sessions, MFA, CSRF, RBAC, tenant boundaries.

Routing Plane

Provider routing, fallback, circuit breakers, model selection, cost estimation.

Execution Plane

Agent runtime, orchestration, workflow execution, DAG planning, memory cognition, tool dispatch.

Spend Plane

Billing, Stripe webhooks, subscription lifecycle, per-tenant cost governance, kill switch.

Audit Plane

Tamper-evident audit chain, compliance evidence, forensic reconstruction.

Control Plane

Admin, tenant management, platform-owner operations.

Data Plane

Database integrity, schemas, migrations.

Cross-cutting layers

Observability

Correlation IDs, distributed tracing, structured logs, metrics. Cuts across every plane.

Frontend / Public Surface

The customer- and visitor-facing presentation of the planes.

Infrastructure / Deploy

Substrate the planes run on — Vercel, Neon, GitHub, CI/CD.
