1. Paddle as Merchant of Record

Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for all Vorantiq subscriptions. This means Paddle is legally responsible for processing your payment, collecting applicable taxes, and issuing invoices. When you submit a refund request, we process it on your behalf through Paddle, and the refunded amount is returned to your original payment method.

2. Cooling-Off Period (14 Days) — New Subscribers

In accordance with consumer protection rights applicable in Saudi Arabia and the European Union, new subscribers are entitled to a full refund within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of first subscribing to any paid plan, provided:

  • This is your first subscription to this specific plan
  • Your actual usage of the service does not exceed 10% of the allowed volume
  • You submit your refund request in writing to support@vorantiq.dev

⚠️ Note: The cooling-off period applies to new subscriptions only, not automatic renewals.

3. Annual Plans — Pro-Rated Refund

If you subscribed to an annual plan and decide to cancel within 30 days of the subscription or renewal date, you are entitled to a pro-rated refund calculated as follows:

Refund Amount = (Annual Amount ÷ 365) × Remaining Unused Days

Example: If you paid $950/year for the Professional plan and cancel 45 days into a new billing cycle, your refund = ($950 ÷ 365) × 320 ≈ $832.19.

4. Monthly Plans

Monthly plans are generally non-refundable once the billing cycle begins, as the full service is activated from the start of the cycle. Exceptions include:

  • The 14-day cooling-off period for new subscribers only
  • Documented duplicate billing or verified technical billing errors
  • Documented service outages exceeding 24 consecutive hours

5. Service Outage Credits

If a documented service outage (recorded on status.vorantiq.dev) exceeds the thresholds defined in the SLA, you are entitled to service credits as follows:

Outage DurationCredit Entitlement
24 – 48 hours10% of the current month's fee
48 – 72 hours25% of the current month's fee
Over 72 hours50% of the current month's fee

Credits apply to Professional, Business, and Enterprise plans only, and are deducted from the next billing cycle.

6. Non-Refundable Circumstances

Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:

  • Account terminated due to Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy violation
  • Refund request submitted after the applicable periods specified above
  • Auto-renewed subscription fees when cancellation was not made before renewal
  • Free plan (no payments to refund)
